| The first thing involved, to make sure your ads have that regular visitors on daily basis, is placing them in the right place. |
| Now this does depend on the type of website, but in general, it has been found that more people will look at ads that are placed just at the top of the centre of the page. This is because, it has been found that this is where our eyes are automatically drawn to at anytime. |

You are not trying to deceive your visitors, into thinking that the ad is a part of the text - you are trying to combat "ad blindness", and show them ads that may actually appeal to them.However. This does not always work. In places like forums, where people are focused on the topic on hand, they do not tend to pay attention to the ads, regardless of whether they look different or the same. Some forums have been rather successful at using completely contrasting colours - so that the ads are "in your face" and stand out. Whether you blend ads, or make them contrasting really depends on your type of website or blog. You need always to play around and find what works for your website commonly forever. It can be the difference between a 1% click through rate, and a 10% click through rate - so is certainly worth the work and effort. |
